Triom
HOW IT WORKS · UPSELLS

Two places to offer more — and one of them is inside the order they already placed.

A customer checks out. The confirmation page loads, and that’s the exact moment they remember the spare filter they meant to add. Right now that becomes a support email, a second order to merge, or nothing at all.

Triom is a Shopify app that shows upsells in two places. One sits in the cart during checkout, before the customer pays. The other is a post-purchase offer, rendering inside the Edit your order experience already running on your Thank You and Order Status pages — and when a customer accepts it there, the item joins the order they just placed instead of starting a new one. Both are configured in the same app as order editing and order merging.

Pillar 01

The post-purchase upsell lands in the order they already placed.

The order-editing upsell renders inside the Order Editing app block. On the Order Status page that’s the same block customers use to fix an address or bump a quantity. On the Thank You page the block is smaller — an edit-window countdown and an “Edit your order” button — and the offer sits alongside it. Labelled “Complete your order” by default, on the pages you pick: Thank You, Order Status, or both.

  • Two surfaces, one upsell, or two — at least one surface toggle has to be on
  • Pin a specific upsell ID to a block and only that offer is considered there
  • Filters read the live order — an item added mid-edit then removed doesn’t count

Pillar 02

In the checkout cart, before they pay.

The checkout upsell appears inside the cart section during checkout: your heading (or “You might also like” if you leave it blank), an optional supporting line, and product cards with an image, a variant selector where there’s more than one variant, the price, and an Add button. Tapping Add drops the chosen variant straight into the cart and, if a discount is configured, applies it automatically.

  • Free shipping is available here, and only here — percentage and fixed-amount work on both types
  • Title and Description accept {{discount}}, replaced at render time with whatever you configured
  • “Hide products already in the cart” stops the offer suggesting what they’re buying right now

Pillar 03

Choose what gets shown, and who sees it.

Every upsell needs a product source, and the three on offer trade control for maintenance. Hand-pick up to 20 products and pin variants, let Shopify’s “Customers also bought” engine choose, or use the complementary pairings you already maintain in Search & Discovery — that last one shows nothing rather than falling back, so set your pairings up before you launch on it.

  • Default audience is every customer; switch to Match conditions for rules
  • Six fields: cart subtotal, total items, contains product, contains collection, logged in, customer tags
  • Stack the fields with AND or OR, then run one upsell per audience — first-time buyers see one set of products, big carts see another

Pillar 04

See exactly how much revenue each upsell generated.

Four tiles head the Upsells page — Upsell Revenue, Views, Conversion Rate and AOV Lift — above a daily revenue chart and a row for every offer you’re running. Open any upsell and the same four numbers narrow to that offer alone, so you can tell the one paying for itself from the one taking up space in the checkout.

  • Revenue counts on payment, not on the click — abandoned adds never inflate it
  • Deltas compare like for like: 7 days against the prior 7, 30 against the prior 30
  • Give a new upsell 7–14 days and a few hundred views before you read the rate
